Love for Cabarita & Environs

"You have reached your destination", said the TomTom as we pulled up outside the big blue house.
The magical Cabarita Beach was my home for just over a week about a week ago.
Every time I visit this gorgeous place I fall in love a bit more with the world. Regardless of the weather, there's a lovely energy about the whole region of coastal norther NSW in all its natural, easy beauty.

Hitting the beach

A day trip took us further inland for a lunch at a firm favourite spot to eat, Harvest, in Newrybar.
Sitting out on the verandah you can observe such things as the resident chook taking a peck about the shrubbery.

Or look across the drive at the deli you will soon be visiting to pick up some take-home delicacies after a leisurely lunch.

The drive home, window open, wind in your hair, is a refreshing meander back to headquarters.

And all along the route home, it's not unusual to come across little fresh produce stalls offering inexpensive & delicious treats to contribute to your breakfast, lunch & dinner plus juices & smoothies throughout the week.

There's also the possibility to reconnect with a good friend who otherwise lives faraway from your hometown.  Australia is a big country so when you're an hour to two hours away, this seems more or less close!

Thank you, dear Brooke, for making the trip down for a beach weekend.  I had a glorious time with you swimming, walking, brunching, wining & dining.

On our table at Season restaurant:
B's grilled barramundi with Asian salad
Side salad of Mediterranean goodies: tomatoes, peppers, olives, bread, herbs & baby spinach
My prawns with capers & light-as-anything papardelle.  If I was a wedding guest for the marriage of seafood & pasta, I would be blubbering - happy tears.

Likewise, at the wedding of chocolate & peanut butter, and that of salt & caramel.
Sweet ending to dinner of peanut butter chocolate fondant with caramel gelato.

Our Sunday morning walking trail after a lazy brunch.
Just so active!

And cool.

Thank you, Cabarita Boganger & its environs.
